Julia Dearborn owns and operates Endeavor Farm which is located on 26 picturesque rolling acres at the end of a gravel road in Granville County . The farm was planned with the physical and emotional well being of performance sport horses in mind and provides ideal facilities for the training of horses and riders. The farm offers a tranquil, quiet setting with beautiful views, integrated landscaping and gardens, and additionally is home to 9 dogs, 3 cats, 2 black swans, and 2 mini horses.
The three barns include nine 12 x 12 airy stalls, each providing at least 2 views of the farm through grilled windows and dutch doors. A wash stall with hot and cold water, three grooming areas, a heated tack room and separate secure feed and hay storage areas complete the barns.
Outdoor amenities include a 110' x 300' arena with all weather footing, a jump course with improved turf footing, and approximately a mile of looping trails through wooded acreage. Six paddocks ranging from several acres to a small recuperative area accommodate even special turnout needs.
Horses and riders come to Endeavor Farm for education, support and enlightenment. Our training and instruction programs have produced winners at local, regional and national levels and are focused on developing a successful partnership between horse and rider. We truly strive to support horses and riders from the onset of training to competition at the FEI and international levels. Through classical training, horses become confident, relaxed and expressive with a clear understanding of what is asked of them. Riders become thinking, feeling partners for their horses and progress through the stages of rider development with both theory and practice as their base.

ABOUT JULIA DEARBORN
I am the trainer and instructor at Endeavor Farm and it is one of my core beliefs that horses are generous, giving creatures which seek to do our bidding if it is communicated clearly and if we support, vs. inhibit, their efforts. As a trained educator, I strive to "teach" both horses and riders a system of interacting which makes sense, develops progressively, and produces solid results. My training methods are those based on classical principles, correct rider position and application of the aids, and biomechanics. I am a certified teacher, and a USDF Certified Instructor and actively seek to continue my own education through instruction, seminars and clinics that I regularly attend.
I have been involved with horses my entire life. As a youngster, I worked with a variety of trainers including five years that I worked each summer with Monte Foreman. While in college, I became interested in three day eventing. An opportunity to live and work at Flying Horse Stables led to an intense year of instruction in both dressage and over fences work. Daily lunge lessons, classes in theory and riding over some of the best cross country courses in the east were supervised by outstanding trainers such as Sarah Carlson-Geikie, Janice Schreurs, Tuny Full (Page), and Tad Coffin. I also had the opportunity to attend clinics and work under the direction of Sally Swift, Jack LeGoff, Jan Conant and George Morris during this time.
The next phase of my training was competed in England where I rode 3 day horses under the direction of Allison Oliver and John McIrvine. Training and competing on horses in England greatly broadened my perspective and I benefited greatly from riding many different types of horses over challenging courses. Attending and participating in international dressage and event competitions provided experiences in showing as well. When I returned to the USA , I opened my own barn and began training horses and riders professionally, in addition to competing myself.
I have trained horses and riders to success in many areas including reining horses, show pleasure horses and even barrel racing horses, but in the past 10 years have focused on training and showing dressage horses. I have had the opportunity to work under many fantastic trainers and have integrated their teachings into mine. Endeavor Farm horses and riders have been very successful in competitions and have earned various state and national awards in dressage, combined training and in breed show competition. Our horses and riders exemplify that success in the show ring is a natural extension of a training program that works for both the horse and rider. We look forward to supporting you in your endeavor and invite you to contact us for more information.
