Our training program truly "educates" horses through systematic and rewards based interaction, and is based on classical principles proven for centuries. Whether the goal is to improve ground manners of a young horse, or to fully develop the ability of an advanced dressage or event horse, the steps in training are logical, sequential and fully integrated. Our aim is to produce capable, comfortable, and confident equine partners that truly “understand” our requests. Toward this end, we apply classical dressage principles, natural horsemanship techniques, and biomechanical theory as they relate to the specific and individual needs of each horse.
Each horse's program includes an assessment of needs, focused training and exercises, and progress reports. Training also includes board which at our farm is more accurately termed “management” of each horse as an individual. We assess and constantly reevaluate nutritional needs, shoeing, fitness and the emotional well being of each horse. Horses are cared for each day, with grooming, care and attention provided to each horse.
Owner and riders are encouraged to be an integral part of their horse's education, and are requested to actively participate in training sessions. Support is offered from the most basic ground interactions through developing the best strategy for competing. And all owner/riders are provided with support after the horse has gone home.
We are happy to provide references regarding our training program, and welcome your appointment to attend a training session. Please contact us to discuss your horse's needs and your goals.

I have been blessed with a talented but difficult and insecure horse. Working with Julia has enabled me to develop a harmonious and fun relationship with a horse that other people had told me to give up on. She is a great confidence builder and communicator, both in helping you understand your horse and your abilities. I can't thank her enough for helping me find the "inner" horse I always knew was there!
