LAUREN GIBSON
I am a sixteen year old sophomore attending Northern High School , in Durham . I live in Rougemont , NC which is only ten minutes from Endeavor Farm. I have been around horses since I was two years old. I started riding when I was about six years old, since then I have had the opportunity to ride and work at many different barns in the area. I have interacted with many different types of horses.

I have had a working student position at Endeavor Farm for almost two years and I enjoy learning in such a great environment. By working with Julia almost daily, my skills have developed from a beginner rider to experienced competitor. Observing Julia working with both horses and riders enables me to learn in a way that I know will help me assist other riders with their dressage educations and horse ventures.

Julia has instilled in me her innate patience, kindness, and respect towards every animal we influence. Currently I am competing at 3 rd Level on Rocadero, a horse that Julia owns. My long term goals are to hopefully qualify for the North American Junior/Young Rider Championships in 2010, do some eventing, and support all the horses that I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to ride and show.

KAITLYN SCHILL
I am a 20 year old college student currently at Durham Technical Community College. I plan on transferring to NC State University with the goal of becoming a large animal Veterinarian. Being born into an equestrian hearted family, I have grown up riding and being around horses my whole life. I am currently competing a 13 year old Appendix Quarter Horse named Bradley. Bradley and I compete in the equestrian sport of three day eventing at the preliminary level. Bradley and I also compete in dressage shows at second level.

The several years I have worked with Julia has created a new understanding and appreciation for dressage. Through Julia's instruction and support Bradley and I have improved all areas of our riding, proving the importance of dressage as a foundation for all disciplines. Being a working student under Julia has offered me many valuable opportunities. Under her instruction I have been able to experience many different types of horses with many different types of problems. From that I have learned how to be an effective rider for almost any horse or issue.

My future riding aspirations include competing at a one star level event, to event at the intermediate level, as well as continue to develop my abilities and knowledge of riding.

I also hope to work with young horses, going through the process of training them and getting them started with correct and kind foundations. Other life goals I have include running my own medical equestrian center here in North Carolina.

When I first started riding at Endeavor Farm with Julia, I had lost a lot of confidence by riding horses with problems and taking instruction from some negative trainers. Julia helped me build my confidence by teaching me in a way that included me in my horse's training. She gave me a toolkit of skills that I can use in any situation, on any horse, and be effective.
